2025 - Training on Sustainable Packaging for Export

The Institute of Packaging Professionals Kenya (IOPPK) presents a timely and practical training program focused on Sustainable Packaging for Export, tailored specifically for the horticulture sector. This training is designed to support stakeholders in the flowers (roses, carnations), fruits (avocados, mangoes), and vegetables (green beans) value chains, equipping them with packaging knowledge that aligns with export market standards.
 
Participants will gain insight into how packaging can enhance product protection, reduce post-harvest losses, and improve cost-effectiveness and sustainability throughout the supply chain. The training will provide exposure to global packaging trends, sustainable options, and functional innovations that meet the requirements of international markets such as the EU, UAE, and USA.

Mr. Joseph holds a B.SC (Industrial Engineering) Missouri Columbia USA, Registered Engineer Kenya, Fellow Institute of Materials (IOM3) UK CEO and General Secretary IOPPK, Board Member WPO (World Packaging Organization), General Secretary APO (Africa Packaging Organization), National and International Packaging Consultant and Trainer. First President Africa Packaging Organization 2012-2018. Former CEO GS1 Kenya, Unilever Packaging Development Manager. Member institutes of Packaging.

Zippy Shiyoya

Zippy Shiyoya is the Director of the Institute of Packaging Professionals Kenya, and a seasoned packaging expert with over 30 years of experience in the food packaging industry. Having led graphic packaging design projects for a global packaging multinational, she brings deep insight into packaging materials, print technologies, and the unique challenges facing emerging markets. Zippy is passionate about bridging knowledge gaps and equipping businesses with practical, sustainable packaging solutions. She holds a diploma in Graphic Arts – Reproduction Production from Mohawk College, Ontario, Canada, and is committed to empowering local producers to meet global packaging and branding standards.
